Michael Plant

A connoisseur of cutting-edge technology with a particular penchant for the latest console and gaming gadgets; Mike Plant, 28, has freelanced for LatestGadgets since November 2009. Aside from writing news and features for LatestGadgets, Mike also writes for The Independent and regularly contributes news, reviews and features to the paper’s online gaming section and Life supplement. If growing up playing console games has taught Mike anything it’s that a well crafted game can eclipse any film in terms of immersion and emotion and that games are woefully unrecognised by media and public as an art form. Mike hopes to champion the games industry for being the mature and innovative industry it is and what better way than to consider the gadgets and accessories – from control pads to surround sound speakers – all designed to captivate the player within the gaming experience. Mike’s ambition is to hold a staff writer position at a leading games magazine but until then is delighted to freelance for both The Independent and LatestGadgets; Mike's latest articles can be found on Journalisted.com
